Exhibition: Richard Hutten - Obsessed with Chair from April 2 to September 9, 2011 The Zuiderzee Museum presents the exhibition Richard Hutten - Obsessed with chairs, the work of Richard Hutten, one of the most successful Dutch designers of the moment. The presentation shows several generations chairs that served as inspiration for Hutten himself. It is specifically focus on the history of the huts specially designed for the Museum Zuiderzee Chair. The rooms also include chairs from Arne Jacobsen, Gerrit Rietveld and HP Berlage see. A combination of chairs, prototypes and sketches provide design enthusiasts and museum experts to be the possibility of the design by Richard Hutten close. The exhibition is part of the policy of the Zuiderzee annual issue orders to contemporary designers using ancient craft techniques. Designed by Richard Hutten Zuiderzee chair is based on the old-fashioned buttons chairs from the 18th and 19th with woven cane seat and back. The wealthy churchgoers had their own chair. Oct 15 2010: At the leading fair Interieur in Kortrijk Belgium, NgispeN launched the new chair by Jurgen Bey "Stubborn Chair" Two stackable chairs placed slightly off centered are melted together. It is impossible to place these chairs in straight, neat rows. “One never sits on a chair the way it is meant to be used: you sit on it like this, or you could sit on it like this,” Bey says shifting in his chair. “In the end you’ll have a chair that is never right, and that is always right - a very stubborn chair.” Stubborn Chair will be available in 3 versions, rough, smooth and upholstered. |
